Girl dies after tying rakhi to brothers

MAHABUBABAD: A 17-year-old girl from Kodada, who attempted suicide due to harassment by a local youth, died after tying rakhi to her brothers.

The incident occurred in the Narasimhulapet Mandal of the Mahabubabad district. The girl is a diploma student who has been being harassed in the name of love by a local youth. Upset over the issue, she consumed poison to end her life.

Admitted to the hospital, she expressed fear that she may not survive until Raksha Bandhan.

Even in a critical condition, she tied rakhi to her brother and cousin Saturday night. She breathed her last a few hours later.
