HYDERABAD: Excise officers arrested an IIT student and an IT employee for selling ganja in Hyderabad.

Pavan, an IIT student, and Lokesh, an IT employee, were apprehended from a PG hostel in SR Nagar, where they were involved in the illegal sale of ganja.

Excise police conducted raids in areas like Manikonda, Kukatpally, and SR Nagar, seizing 1.75 kg of ganja from Lokesh's residence in Manikonda. Another person, Srikanth, who allegedly supplied ganja to Lokesh, was arrested in Kukatpally.

The accused were reportedly selling ganja at Rs 20,000 per kilogram. During their investigation, the police identified 22 individuals who had purchased ganja from the accused and registered cases against them.
