Inter-state bike thief arrested, 22 two-wheelers seized in Chittoor district

PUTHALAPATTU: The Thavanampalle Police have arrested an inter-state two-wheeler thief and seized 22 bikes from his possession in Puthalapattu of Chittoor district.
Briefing the media on the case at Thavanampalle police station, Inspector Ravi Shankar Reddy said that they had intensified their surveillance on the two-wheeler thefts for some days now.
He said that a police team, led by Tavanampally SI Sudhakar Reddy, detained the accused named Govindaraju, an inter-state thief belonging to Yadamari mandal, while he was travelling on a bike without a number plate on the Patnam flyover bridge. Inspector Ravi Shankar Reddy added that they had seized 22 bikes worth around Rs 20 lakhs from his possession.
The Inspector congratulated Thavanampally SI Sudhakar Reddy and police constables Raja, Sudhakar, Balachandra and Gautam for cracking the bike theft case and gave away rewards to them.
