IPL betting racket busted in Moinabad, four held, Rs. 46 lakhs seized

HYDERABAD: The police have busted the IPL cricket betting racket at Mylardevpally in Moinabad police station limits of Ranga Reddy district and arrested two gangs apart from seizing Rs. 46 lakhs from the spot.

According to the police, four members of two gangs were allegedly conducting betting on the IPL match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings held on Monday.

The police upon receiving the information on the betting swung into action and busted the gang and seized a whopping amount of Rs. 46 lakh.

Rajendranagar DCP Jagadishwar Reddy, who is investigation the case, said that special teams were deployed to search for other gang members.

This is the fourth such betting racket busted by the police in the city - be it Hyderabad or Cyberabad or Rachakonda - ever since IPL 2023 cricket matches began.
