Kottapalli school headmaster suspended over poor quality of food served to students
Headmaster of Kottapalli High School in Kotagiri Mandal suspended after an incident where students resorted to eat chilli powder due to poor quality meals.
NIZAMABAD: The Headmaster of Kottapalli High School in Kotagiri Mandal of Nizamabad district, Kishan, has been suspended following an incident where students were forced to eat their lunch with chilli powder. District Education Officer (DEO) Durga Prasad issued the suspension order on Wednesday.
The incident, which took place on August 2, came to light after a video of students from classes 7 and 8 adding chilli powder to their meals went viral. An investigation revealed that the school, which has 120 students, served spoiled vegetables, prompting them to eat their food with chilli powder.
The DEO conducted an inquiry on Saturday and found the Headmaster negligent in his supervisory duties, particularly monitoring the midday meal scheme. Two teachers on duty on the day of the incident have also received memos.
