LB Nagar court jails child molester for five years in POCSO case
A chargesheet was filed following the completion of inquiry
HYDERABAD: The Additional District Judge cum Special POCSO Court in LB Nagar on Tuesday sentenced accused Chejerla Prasad to five years in prison and fined him Rs 20,000, in a POCSO case.
On June 4, 2017, the victim's mother lodged a complaint with the LB Nagar police station, stating that the accused Chejerla Prasad outraged the modesty of her oldest daughter when she and her husband were out selling vegetables after leaving their three children at home.
According to the complaint, the accused took her 8-year-old daughter to a nearby lane when she was playing in front of their house. When the victim screamed, the accused fled from the scene.
During the course of the investigation, a case was recorded at LB Nagar police station under the relevant provisions based on the complaint. D.Nagaraju, Sub-Inspector of Police, conducted the investigation, gathered evidence, apprehended the accused, and remanded him in judicial custody.
A chargesheet was filed following the completion of inquiry. During the trial on Tuesday, the offender was convicted and was asked to pay Rs 20,000 in compensation to the victim.
