HYDERABAD: A man has been accused of raping a tribal girl who accompanied her father for agricultural work. The incident occurred in a village within the Shamshabad mandal.

The girl, from a local tribal community, regularly worked with her father on the land of a well-connected individual in a nearby village. The landowner, aged 30, allegedly intimidated and raped the girl, who remained silent out of fear. Taking advantage of her silence, he continued the abuse multiple times.

The situation came to light when the girl became pregnant approximately five months later. In an attempt to cover up the crime, the man took her to Kothur and paid a doctor to perform an abortion despite the risks to her health. He then attempted to settle the matter discreetly by convening a meeting with local tribal and village leaders on his farm, offering compensation to resolve the issue.

However, the girl's family refused to be silenced by money and reported the crime to the Shamshabad police. Based on their complaint, a POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) case has been registered against the accused.
