Godavarikhani police arrest man transporting 5.5 kg ganja on bike from Hyderabad to Maharashtra.
KARIMNAGAR: Godavarikhani One Town police arrested a man attempting to transport ganja from Hyderabad to Maharashtra.
According to ACP Ramesh, Tandru Avinash of Tilak Nagar, Godavarikhani, was apprehended while riding a bike from Hyderabad to Godavarikhani and carrying 5.5 kg of ganja.
In April, Avinash had evaded arrest during a police raid at Adaguntapalli, Godavarikhani, where ganja was being sold. During the earlier operation, Birneni Abhilash alias Chanti, Anwar, and Chikkudu Rahul were detained, while Avinash managed to escape to Hyderabad. In Hyderabad, he worked as a cab driver and reportedly travelled to Odisha during his spare time to source ganja for sale.
The arrest occurred when Avinash was en route to Maharashtra with the ganja. Police, led by CI Indrasena Reddy and SI Srinivas, took him into custody and seized the contraband. The arrest is part of ongoing police operations to curb illegal drug trafficking in the region.
