Man cheated of Rs 30 lakh with Gigolo app; Hyderabad police arrest one

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad cyber crime police have arrested the operator of a fake dating call centre for cheating a person to the tune of Rs 30 lakhs.

The action was taken based on a complaint lodged by the victim. Reportedly, the complainant chatted up with a few girls through a dating app called Gigolo Playboy Services and even transferred huge sums of money to them.

Arun, the accused, allegedly ran a call centre from Delhi where he recruited a few girls and received calls through the Gigolo app. They made fake promises and lured people into sending huge amounts. Reportedly, they had collected Rs 1.5 crores through the fake call centre.

The accused used two of his bank accounts and asked the victim to transfer an amount of Rs 22 lakhs into one account and Rs 8 lakhs into the other account.
