Man dies by suicide after killing three children

HYDERABAD: A 35-year-old man died by suicide after killing his three children in Shankarpally of Ranga Reddy district on Monday.

Preliminary enquiries by the police revealed that the deceased, Ravi, had collected about Rs 5 lakh from people in nearby areas through a scheme, promising a return of Rs 3,000 for every Rs 1,000 invested, within 58 days. However, he could not fulfill his commitment and suffered substantial financial problems. With pressure mounting from the investors to return the money, Ravi succumbed to the pressure and took the drastic step of killing his children and then ending his life. He killed his three children by hanging before taking the extreme step.

The police registered a case, and further investigations are underway.
