Man, father of five, stabs pregnant wife; flees with money in Mulugu

MULUGU: In a horrific incident that took place in Medaram of Tadwai mandal in Mulugu district, a man stabbed his pregnant woman with a knife and fled with money.

According to the police, the couple, Shyamala and Anil, residing in Medaram, have five children. Anil on Friday stabbed his pregnant wife and fled from the spot. Upon the information, the Mulugu District DCPO Omkar and his team shifted Shyamala to Mulugu area hospital in an ambulance for treatment.

In a statement given to the police, victim Shyamala said that her husband stabbed her and fled with money. Her husband was unhappy that they have too many children to feed. The doctors of Mulugu area hospital said that they were treating her.

Meanwhile, the ICDS team shifted the couple’s five children to Sakhi Centre.
