Mentally ill man hacks 10-yr-old daughter to death in Manthani

KARIMNAGAR: In a bizarre incident, a man, suffering from mental illness, hacked his 10-year-old daughter to death in Bhattupalli of Manthani mandal in Peddapalli district on Thursday. The incident sent shockwaves locally as the accused also allegedly killed his wife only about six months back.

According to reports, Gundla Sadaiah of Bhattupalli hacked his eldest daughter Rajitha (10) with an axe on Thursday morning when there was no one at home. Later, Sadaiah came out of his house and attacked another man, named Srinivas, of the same village. He was later detained by the police who are investigating the case.

The villagers claimed that Sadaiah was suffering from mental illness for quite some time and even murdered his wife six months ago. They said that Sadaiah, who was out on bail, had been attacking other villagers as well. Expressing outrage over the killing of Rajitha, the villagers demanded severe punishment for Sadaiah.
