Mother-son duo injured in acid-attack over extramarital affair

VIJAYAWADA: In a horrific incident in Nandigama of NTR district on Sunday, a man identified as Mani Singh poured acid on a married woman for ignoring him resulting in grievous injuries to her and her son.

According to the details available, Thirupatamma, a resident of Aithavaram in the NTR district, had met Manisingh through social media and maintained a live-in relationship.

After the relationship went on smoothly for some time, Thirupatamma was distancing herself from Mani Singh, which led the latter to develop a grudge. Mani Singh, who was waiting for an opportunity, came victim's house on Sunday morning and poured acid on her.

The locals, who witnessed the incident, rushed the victims to Nandigama Government Hospital where the doctors said that the woman's condition is now stable.

Meanwhile, the police who detained Mani Singh registered a case and investigating it further.
