Nalgonda police arrest accused in love attack case

HYDERABAD: The Nalgonda police on Wednesday arrested the accused in the case related to a murder attempt on a girl, which sent shockwaves in the state on Tuesday. Meesala Rohit Kumar, the youth, inflicted stab injuries on a girl who rejected his love for her.

Reportedly, the accused has been harassing the girl for a few months pestering her to accept his love. However, when the girl refused to do so, he used his friend, Sai Kumar's mobile and called the girl to Forest Office Park in Nalgonda district. The girl, along with her friend, reached the park. Rohit took her aside and brutally stabbed her.

After the arrest, District Superintendent of police (SP) Rema Rajeshwari said that strict action would be taken against those who harass women in the name of love.
