Nalgonda police seize 73 kgs Ganja, three smugglers arrested

NALGONDA: In a significant breakthrough, the Nalgonda Police arrested three individuals for smuggling Ganja and seized 73.825 kg of the drug, five cell phones, and a car.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Nalgonda DSP Sivarama Reddy informed that acting on a tip-off about Ganja being transported along the Vijayawada-Hyderabad national highway, police conducted vehicle checks at the Korlaphad check post. They stopped a suspicious car and found the Ganja, valued at approximately Rs 18,45,625.

The arrested individuals were identified as Ashok Kumar, Deepu Kumar, and Sushma Rai.

DSP Sivarama Reddy warned that strict actions would be taken against anyone found selling or transporting Ganja. He urged the youth to avoid drugs and not ruin their future. He said the police intensified inspections as part of a special drive to eradicate drugs in Telangana.
