NIA conducts searches in Hyderabad following suspected terrorist arrest
NIA officials carry out raids at Saidabad Green View Apartments, Hyderabad, linked to arrested terrorist Rizwan Abdul.
HYDERABAD: National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials conducted searches on Sunday at Green View Apartments in the Sankeshwar Bazaar area of Saidabad, Hyderabad.
The raids were carried out in connection with the recent arrest of Rizwan Abdul, a suspected terrorist linked to the international terrorist group ISIS. Abdul was arrested by NIA in August and was identified as a most-wanted terrorist with ISIS connections. He was reportedly operating from Pune on behalf of ISIS before his arrest in Gangabakhsh Marg, Delhi.
During the arrest, authorities seized a 30-bore pistol, three cartridges, and two mobile phones from Rizwan. Following the arrest, the Delhi Special Cell registered a case against him. Rizwan had a reward of Rs 3 lakh on his head prior to his capture.
The searches in Hyderabad were reportedly based on information provided by Rizwan Abdul during interrogation. Investigations revealed that he had resided at the Green View Apartments in Saidabad for several months.
NIA officials brought him to the location as part of the ongoing investigation. Further details regarding the searches are still awaited.
