One killed as 'Pawan Kalyan vs Prabhas' fan war turns nasty in Andhra Pradesh

ATHILI, West Godavari district: A 'Pawan Kalyan vs Prabhas' fan war over WhatsApp status led to the killing of a youth in Athili of West Godavari district on Saturday.

According to the Athili police, Hari Kumar and Kishore, fans of Tollywood stars Prabhas and Pawan Kalyan respectively, hail from Eluru and are painters by profession. The duo went to Athili three days ago for painting works at a building on Masjid Street and had been residing at the same building.

Hari Kumar, a fan of actor Prabhas, is also the secretary of the Prabhas fans association in Eluru. He has uploaded the video of his favourite actor as his WhatsApp status. Kishore, who was a fan of Pawan Kalyan, insisted on Hari Kumar to post Pawan Kalyan's video as the latter’s WhatsApp status which led to a clash between the two.

As both of them were already under the influence of alcohol, the fight escalated and Hari Kumar attacked Kishore on the head with a centering stick before hitting him on the face with a stone. Kishore was killed on the spot.

The police registered a case and arrested Hari Kumar who was later sent to jail on remand.
