Pedestrian killed after being hit by car while talking on phone

HYDERABAD: A man was killed in a road accident on the Medchal-Pochampally IT Corridor in Hyderabad.

The victim, identified as Giri, was reportedly talking on his phone while crossing the road when he was hit by a speeding car. The impact of the collision threw him nearly 10 meters into the air, resulting in fatal injuries.

The entire incident was captured on CCTV camera. Footage shows the driver initially slowing down and steering the car from the extreme right lane towards the left, appearing as though he might stop. However, the driver then sped away from the scene. Police have registered a case and are currently investigating the incident.
