Rachakonda SHE-Teams arrest 124 eve teasers; 3 child marriages prevented

HYDERABAD: Rachakonda police 'SHE- Teams' have arrested 124 eve-teasers, booked 76 cases and prevented three child marriages in the last four weeks. In all, 76 cases were registered including 10 FIRs, 31 minor offences and 35 counselling cases. As many as 124 responders, including 79 minors, were apprehended.

SHE Teams carried out decoy operations in Bhongir, Choutuppal, Ibrahimpatnam, Kushaiguda, Vanasthalipuram, Malkajgiri, LB Nagar and Vanasthalipuramand apprehended 79 minor boys who were causing nuisance and eve teasing girls.

Meanwhile, the Rachakonda SHE Teams team has also successfully prevented three child marriages in the past four weeks in the areas of Bhongir, Ibrahimpatnam and Kushaiguda.

They have averted a total of 155 child marriages while 155 young women have been saved from child marriages in various parts of the city.

Additionally, 124 eve teasers were caught by Rachakonda SHE teams in the past four weeks through decoy operations, WhatsApp, and SMUC complaints from various Rachakonda neighbourhoods while they were harassing girls at various hotspots like metro trains, intersections, bus stops, workplaces, and colleges in the neighborhood.

Rachakonda SHE teams provided counselling to the eve-teasers and their families at the Commissioner Camp office in LB Nagar's Alkapuri X roads. They were counselled by a member of the Bhumika Women's Collective (NGO), Dr. Vasavi, who is a qualified psychiatrist who provides counselling to young people who are experiencing behavioural issues in order to help them improve their behaviour.
