SIRCILLA: Ten aggrieved candidates climbed a water tank in Sircilla town protesting against alleged irregularities in the appointment of ration dealers.

Armed with petrol bottles, the protestors expressed their anger, claiming that ration shops were unfairly allocated to ineligible candidates overnight. They also alleged that their decade-long licenses to operate ration shops were abruptly cancelled, leaving their families in distress.

The protestors demanded that the existing dealers be reinstated and that only eligible candidates receive the new ration dealerships. They called for the district collector to intervene and revoke the recent appointments.

Upon receiving information, Additional SP Chandrayya and DSP Chandrashekar Reddy arrived at the site to engage in discussions with the protesters.
