HYDERABAD: The Cyberabad Police have invoked Preventive Detention (PD) Act against two notorious offenders who had earlier shot dead a realtor hailing from Nawab Kunta in Hyderabad. The accused murdered the realtor Ismail with firearms on road in the heart of Cyberabad over a dispute in the real- estate business.

The PD Act has been invoked to prevent them from indulging in any further unlawful activities. They were arrested in the first week of August for the realtor's murder. As part of the ongoing drive initiated by Cyberabad Police Commissioner M Stephen Raveendra, the two accused Mohammed Mujahid of Dundigal and Mohammed Jeelani Pasha, a resident of Yousufguda were detained in the central prison in Malkajgiri district to prevent them from indulging in further criminal activities.

The accused allegedly shot dead the realtor on a road in full public glare. Reportedly, they had procured a dagger from Gulbarga and pistols with live rounds from Bihar to kill the victim.

According to a Cyberabad Police release, one of the accused Mohd Mujahid was earlier sentenced to life imprisonment in a murder case for which he served 11 years in jail before being released recently. The other accused Mohamed Jeelani Pasha, along with Mujahid, was involved in an attempt to murder case in 2022 and was lodged in jail.
