Seven staffers of loan lending firm arrested in Haritha suicide case

VIJAYAWADA: Seven members of SLV Financial Services were arrested on Monday in connection with the suicide case of student Haritha in Nandigama of the NTR district.
The 17-year-old girl, also a 12th class topper, died by suicide following harassment of her parents by recovery agents over repayment of a loan. The family has taken a loan of Rs 3.5 lakh from the financial service to meet Haritha's educational expenses.
In the presence of Nandigama ACP Nageshwara Reddy the accused in the case were interrogated at Vatsavai police station. Managers of the financial firm Cheluva Munedhar Reddy, Singireddy Venkateshwara Rao and Boorugu Madhuri, recovery agents Chirra Pavan Kumar, Kurushoti Bhagyateja, Chella Srinivasa Rao, Gajjalakonda Venkata shiva and Nagaraju were grilled on this occasion.
Recovery agents chirra Pavan and Kurushoti Bhagyateja alias Sai admitted to have humiliated the family of Haritha. One of the managers Boorugu Madhuri was taken into custody in connection with another case for misleading the public about a call centre in Begumpet while setting up the office and operating the centre from a building in Mogalrajapuram of Vijayawada.
