KHAMMAM: A gruesome murder of a Singareni labourer has sparked outrage in Godavarikhani coal city in Peddapalli district on Saturday.
Unidentified persons shot dead Korikuppula Rajender, a daily wage labourer in Ganganagar, a neighbourhood of Godavarikhani town in Peddapalli district, on Friday night. Rajender, who worked in a coal mine in Manchiryal district, got intoxicated on Friday night. He was killed after he returned home and fell asleep.
Rajender, who worked as a daily wage labourer at the RK Newtech coal mine in Manchiryal district, used to go there on a regular basis and then return to his house in Ganganagar, Godavarikhani. He reportedly went to work on Friday afternoon and returned home in the night. Rajender, who is survived by his wife and two children, was shot dead in his sleep by the unknown miscreants.
Incidentally, The footage from a neighbouring CCTV camera showed that some people arrived and left at 2:30 a.m. The incident is being investigated by Pedpadalli DCP Rupesh, Godavarikhani ACP Giriprasad and the town police. A case has been registered and investigation is underway.
According to the DCP, the murder was committed by an unknown individual using a gun. The incident's causes are being investigated. They claimed that the culprit would be apprehended shortly and that an investigation would be initiated based on the CCTV evidence. He also mentioned that the investigation was being carried out using forensics, a clue team and a dog squad.
