HYDERABAD: A snake was spotted near the doctors' canteen on the ground floor of the old building at Osmania Hospital, triggering panic on Saturday night. Due to recent heavy rains, the snake is believed to have been washed in from the Musi River and made its way into the hospital, alarming medical staff on duty.

The canteen is located next to a room where broken stretchers, wheelchairs, and other equipment have been stored for some time. Medical staff expressed concerns that the increasing accumulation of waste in the area attracts snakes and other pests.

The staff immediately locked the canteen and informed Ganesh, a member of the Snake Society. He arrived promptly, capturing the snake and safely removing it.

Ironically, while Osmania Hospital is known for treating snakebite victims, frequent snake sightings on the premises are now causing anxiety among doctors, staff, patients, and attendants alike.
