Social media influencer, actress Sowmya Shetty held for theft of 1 kg gold at retired employee's house in Visakhapatnam

VISAKHAPATANAM: A popular social media influencer known for her captivating reels on Instagram was arrested for theft at the house of a retired postal employee Janapal Prasad Babu in Visakhapatnam. The accused, identified as Sowmya Shetty, reportedly stole one kg of gold from the residence in Dondaparthi.

According to the Visakhapatnam Police, Soumya carried out the theft in four separate instances and then traveled to Goa with the stolen gold to enjoy. She sold the stolen jewelry in order to acquire cash for her trip and continued to produce content on social media while in Goa.

The Visakha crime police, who investigated into the case, found that the thief behind the theft at the retired postal employee's house was none other than the social media influencer Sowmya Shetty. Sowmya was arrested and sent to remand. She is had acted in a few Telugu movies like The Trip, Yours Lovingly, etc.
