HYDERABAD: Parents of a class 8 girl student created havoc at a school in Attapur after finding out that a physical education teacher had been harassing their daughter.
A PET teacher identified as Vishnu of SR Digi School in Attapur reportedly harassed a class eight student of the same school and also called the girl during odd hours after school.
The agitated parents, along with a few other relatives, resorted to destroying furniture and computer equipment of the school on Saturday. They also attacked the school’s principal and other teachers.
The police, who were alerted by the parents, said that Vishnu’s phone was switched off and they started a search operation.
Student unions also reached the school and expressed concern over the safety of girl students. They said that the management of schools did not focus on the students' safety and only cared about collecting fees.
