Teenage boy killed by a truck on Medchal ORR after stopping due to nausea

HYDERABAD: A ninth-class student lost his life on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) at Medchal after stopping because of sudden nausea.

Thirteen-year-old M. Poojitha Ram exited his vehicle to vomit and was struck by a speeding truck.

Ram, a resident of Bhadrachalam, had travelled to Hyderabad with his family to visit relatives in Kukatpally during their summer vacation. The accident occurred on Saturday as the family was returning from Kukatpally to Bibi Nagar via the ORR.

According to Medchal Sub Inspector S Lavanya, Ram felt nauseous as they approached the Medchal stretch. A relative driving the car stopped on the high-speed expressway, and Ram got out from the right-side door. As he stood on the road to vomit, a DCM truck hit him, causing severe injuries, which eventually led to his death.

Police registered a case against the truck driver and began an investigation.
