HYDERABAD: The Telangana CID team has arrested an inter-state accused who has been absconding for 26 years. He is an accused in the Birla Blue Flames Ltd. company case,

On October 10, 2023, the Special team of Telangana CID team apprehended Ashok Biswal, 55, from Rajendernagar, Madhupatna police station limits in Cuttack, Odisha State.

Birla Blue Flames Ltd., a company in Chandigarh, was promoted by A-1 and appointed Sharada Refrigerators Pvt. Ltd., Allahabad as All India Distributors for Birla LPG, managed by A-3.

Jagmeetha Enterprises (LPG) expanded to distributors in Andhra Pradesh and other states, with Ashok Biswal as Chairman and BV Rao as managing Director accused. Jagmeetha Enterprises, originally located in Gunfoundry, Hyderabad, was later rebranded as Jagmeetha Enterprises (LPG) Pvt. Ltd.

The accused reportedly collected Rs. 1,22,91,200 for registration, security deposit, and cylinder lease from May 1994 to August 1995. The accused, after appointing dealers to collect the amount, closed their offices and absconded without providing LPG.

A case under Crime No. 13/97 U/s 406, 409, 420 r/w 120(B) IPC. was registered in the CID police station.

A chargesheet was also filed against Ashok Biswal, however he fled after committing the crime and had been evading legal proceedings for the past 26 years.

Under the guidance of the Superintendent of Police B. Ram Reddy, a team of police officers executed the Non-Bailable Warrant(NBW) at Rajendernagar, Madhupatna police station limits, Odisha, brought to Hyderabad, and produced him before VI Addl. C.M.M. Court at Nampally.

Telangana DGP Anjani Kumar and CID Additional DGP Mahesh Bhagwat hailed the special team and promised them appropriate rewards soon.
