Telugu girl washed away in River Sarayu at Ayodhya
Family from Jangaon District in Telangana faces tragedy during pilgrimage; search operations continue.
AYODYA: In a tragic incident, a 16-year-old girl named Tejaswini from Jangaon district, Telangana, was washed away in the River Sarayu at Lakshman Ghat in Ayodhya.
The incident occurred on Monday morning when Tejaswini and her family were taking a holy dip. Due to sudden release of water from upstream, the ghat was flooded, causing five family members to fall into the river. While four managed to reach the shore safely, Tejaswini was swept away by the strong currents.
Tejaswini, an intermediate second-year student at ABV Junior College in Jangaon, had traveled to Ayodhya with 15 family members. They had visited the Ram Mandir and other local temples before heading to the ghat for a holy bath.
Despite extensive search efforts since Monday, Tejaswini remains missing. Union Ministers G Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay have been in contact with Uttar Pradesh officials, but there has been no significant progress. The family remains at Lakshman Ghat, anxiously awaiting any news about Tejaswini.
Further details are awaited as search operations continue.
