KURNOOL: Three people lost their lives when the car they were travelling in collided with an RTC bus on Wednesday night near Railway Koduru in Annamayya district.

The victims were relatives of Kamishetti Guruvayya, a local gold merchant from Prakashnagar Colony in Kurnool. They were on their way to a wedding reception in Tirupati when the tragic accident occurred.

The family had recently celebrated the wedding of Guruvayya’s daughter on October 20. They were headed to Tirupati for a reception at the home of Guruvayya’s son-in-law when their car collided with the oncoming bus. The accident claimed the lives of three family members—Suchitra, Vasavi, and Prem Kumar.

Four other individuals, who were also travelling in the car, sustained injuries and were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The condition of the injured is yet to be confirmed.

Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the accident and are looking into whether any factors such as speeding or driver error contributed to the crash.
