Toofan vehicle rams into a parked lorry in Pileru, four dead and six injured

PILERU: Four persons were killed and six injured in a road accident wherein a Toofan vehicle collided with a parked lorry near MGR Engineering College of Pileru at the border area of Annamayya-Chittoor districts on Saturday morning.
According to police, the eleven members were heading from Nandyal to Tiruvannamalai for 'Giri Pradakshina' in a Toofan vehicle on occasion of a full moon. As the vehicle reached MGR college in Pileru, the vehicle rammed into a lorry parked on the side of the road leaving four dead on the spot and seven injured including one critical.
The three deceased were identified as Prathapa Reddy, Shivamma, and Vimala from Kurnool. However, the details of the rest of them were yet to be ascertained.
Upon learning the information, the Kallur police arrived at the accident spot and shifted the dead bodies and the injured to the Pileru government hospital while two of the seriously injured were shifted to Tirupati for better treatment. The police registered a case and are investigating it further.
Meanwhile, the locals who witnessed the accident expressed said they had not seen such a terrible accident before.
