Tribal villagers carried a man’s body for 7 km on a bamboo pole in Vizianagaram after he died at a hospital, as no road or boat was available.
VIZIANAGARAM: In a heart-wrenching incident, tribal villagers in Kondaparthi, under the Gantyada mandal of Vizianagaram district, were forced to carry a deceased man's body for seven kilometres on foot due to the absence of proper road access or any transport facilities.
The deceased, identified as Raja Rao, had been undergoing treatment at a hospital, where he passed away.
With no available roads or boats to transport the body, the villagers tied Raja Rao's body to a bamboo pole and walked seven kilometres to their village. The difficult journey highlighted the severe lack of basic infrastructure in the region, which left the grieving family and community members struggling to complete the final rites.
