Woman dies after drowning in Godavari River in Nirmal district

HYDERABAD: A 45-year-old woman, identified as Jaya from Dharmara village in Nizamabad district, died after drowning in the Godavari river near the first ghat at Basara in Nirmal district.

The incident occurred when Jaya went to bathe in the river but drowned. She is survived by two daughters. Jaya's husband had passed away a year ago, and her mother-in-law died three months ago.

This marks the third death in the family within a year, leading to profound grief among relatives. In a separate incident at the same location, another woman was saved by a devotee who noticed her struggling in the water. Police were informed of the drowning and registered a case, initiating an investigation into the matter.
