Woman kills husband to protect daughter from assault in Sangareddy

SANGAREDDY: In a harrowing incident in Sangareddy district, a woman killed her husband with an axe to protect her children from his sexual assault. The incident took place in Sultanpur village of Chautakur mandal.

According to reports, Manaiah and Indira, residents of Sultanpur village, have two daughters. Their eldest daughter, a widow, lives with them and works as a labourer. On Wednesday midnight, Manaiah, under the influence of alcohol, attempted to assault his daughter sexually. Enraged and desperate to protect her children, Indira killed Manaiah with an axe.

Following the incident, Indira and her daughter immediately went to the police station and surrendered. It was also revealed that their son had committed suicide a few years ago due to ongoing family disputes.

The police have registered a case and are currently investigating the matter.
