Autonomous status of Osmania Engineering College extended by 10 yrs
The OUCE has added another feather to its cap by securing a ten year extension of Union Grants Commission (UGC) autonomy from 2022-23 to 2031-32
HYDERABAD: The Osmania University College of Engineering (OUCE) has added another feather to its cap by securing a ten year extension of Union Grants Commission (UGC) autonomy from 2022-23 to 2031-32.
OUCE achieved UGC autonomy for the first time in 2010 for a duration of six years and obtained a six-year extension in 2016. However, they recently managed to secure a ten-year extension of UGC autonomy from 2022-23 to 2031-32.
The university recently submitted a proposal to extend autonomous status to University College of Engineering, Osmania University (OUCE), and the commission approved the recommendation of the standing committee on autonomous colleges to extend autonomous status to OU engineering college at its meeting on June 27.
Prof. Sriram Venkatesh, Principal of Osmania Engineering College(OUCE), said, "I am happy after obtaining a ten-year autonomous extension from UGC. I am grateful to the vice chancellor, registrar, professors, and other stakeholders for their encouragement and support. We now intend to move on to digilocker/Academic Bank of Credits(ABC) courses for working professionals in OUCE."
