HYDERABAD: IIT Hyderabad will offer a Certificate Program in the Sanskrit Language in collaboration with Central Sanskrit University (CSU), New Delhi. A Non-Formal Sanskrit Education Center (NFSE) has been established at IIT Hyderabad under the supervision of Central Sanskrit University (CSU), New Delhi (IITH).
This centre is hosting an introductory Sanskrit course at the IITH campus, and IITH has invited everyone to enroll, including students, faculty, staff, family members of academic staff, and even individuals from outside IITH.
This Certificate Course at IITH will focus on a graded learning method, with flexibility where the students can decide their pace and join. The IITH says that there is no prerequisite knowledge needed for this special opportunity to learn Sanskrit. An introductory session will be held to give additional information and dispel any lingering questions regarding the course.
Director, IIT Hyderabad, Prof B S Murty, said, "IITH, with its fast-paced growth in quality research and teaching, has emerged as one of the top 10 engineering institutes in India in the QS-2023 World Rankings. IITH has established a Department of Heritage Science & Technology (HST) and an Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) Cell, which is under the aegis of the department of HST, has been established to nurture an awareness of the traditional Indian Knowledge Systems (shaastras) in the IITH community. The primary goal of IKS@IITH is to discover knowledge in traditional Indian systems, conduct scientific research on it, and disseminate the results to the world.I strongly believe that the IKS Cell has great potential to act as a bridge between traditional knowledge and modern technologies. As Sanskrit is the gateway to ancient Indian knowledge, courses like Prathama-diksha play a critical role in achieving this goal. "
The course is set to begin in October, and classes will be held at the IITH campus at the convenience of participants; those interested should fill out the following form:
