HYDERABAD: A 10-year-old boy was wounded in a bizarre 'playful firing' incident that happened here more than a week ago but came to light very late.
According to sources, the incident happened under the Moghalpura police limits on August 1. Afsar, a financier, was indulging in weird fun by playfully firing at dogs from his air pistol. Amused by the fun it created, the minor asked Afsar to also aim at a lizard that was clinging to the side wall.
The financier gleefully obliged the boy's request but only ended up mistakenly firing at the latter.
The minor, who sustained injuries in the incident, was immediately admitted to Virinchi Hospital. Doctors said that the victim's back thoracic and the spine portion was affected. He was later shifted to Grace Hospital in Bahadurpura for better treatment.
