67,577 vehicles hit Pantangi toll plaza and 25,231 at Bibinagar on Friday

HYDERABAD: As the Sankranti fervour marks the two Telugu states, people from the capital city Hyderabad are heading to their native places to celebrate the festival. With the massive turn up of passengers, the vehicular traffic at Pantangi toll plaza and Bibinagar toll plaza has increased.
The Rachakonda Traffic DCP released the details of the total vehicles that passed through the above-mentioned toll plazas. The DCP said that a total of 56,595 vehicles including 42,844 cars, 1,300 RTC buses, 4,913 private buses, 7,538 Goods and other vehicles on January 12 followed by 67,577 vehicles including 53,561 cars, 1,851 RTC buses, 4,906 private buses, 7,259 Goods and Other Vehicles on January 13 respectively at Panthangi toll plaza in Hyderabad-Vijayawada national highway passed through.
He also said that vehicles on the Hyderabad-Warangal highway increased at the Bibinagar toll plaza and stated that 25,231 vehicles traveled from Warangal to Hyderabad yesterday.
Briefing that there is a heavy rush of passengers at LB Nagar Bus stop and heavy vehicular traffic at Pantangi toll gate between 10 pm and 01 am, the DCP said Traffic Special Teams and RTC Special Teams were on their toes to regulate traffic in the peak time. "A traffic special team along with GMR toll management team is working at Pantangi tollgate and effectively regulating the traffic," DCP said.
The DCP requested passengers to wait for buses at the bus shelters set up on the roads to avoid any untoward incident and not to ride in unauthorized vehicles besides asking private bus operators to check the condition of the vehicle before entering the roads and to park in an orderly manner at the bus stands without disrupting the traffic.
