Bandi Sanjay’s son slaps, thrashes fellow student at Mahindra University in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Telangana president Bandi Sanjay’s son Bandi Sai Bhagiradh has once again hogged headlines for wrong reasons with his alleged nasty behaviour towards a fellow student.

In a video that went viral on social media, Bandi Sanjay’s son, along with his friends, was seen slapping and thrashing a student in the name of ragging. Sai Bhagiradh, who is studying at Mahindra University in Hyderabad, allegedly insulted the student based on his region and even threatened him against revealing the incident to anyone. In the video, Bandi Sanjay’s son was also heard claiming that even if the victim complained, there would be no action taken against him.

This was not the first time Bandi Sanjay’ son was in news for his tormenting ways towards others. Earlier, he was removed from a private educational institution in Delhi for his involvement in quarrels at the school.

The viral video evoked outrage and widespread condemnation from the netizens and the public alike who demanded a thorough investigation into the incident and strict action against Bandi Sai Bhagiradh. They felt that the MP’s son should not be allowed to go scot free since he also allegedly threatened to kill the victim. People were also of the opinion that such arrogance from the children of people’s representatives should not be condoned. If this was the level of arrogance of the kin of those in opposition, imagine what would happen if these politicians came to power, wondered a few netizens.

Dundigal Police registered a criminal case under sections 341, 323, 504, 506 read with 34, IPC with crime number 50/2023.

As expected, the victim, Sriram seemed to have been coerced into acknowledging that it was his "misbehaviour" with a girl that led to the attack on him. He made released a sheepish statement through a video as if it was his fault and that Bandi Sanjay's son was correct in slapping him. While the video was 50 days old, the Mahindra University management lodged a complaint about the incident with the police. How the "reconciliation" was arrived at is anybody's guess.
