HYDERABAD: In a sensational revelation, some people tried to lure four MLAs of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) who "were offered" prominent positions,to cross over from the party, allegedly to join the BJP. Whether there was any cash involved is not known.

Commissioner of Cyberabad Police Stephen Ravindra, whose teams conducted an operation at the farm house of a MLA Pilot Rohit Reddy, said that the police accosted four people as part of the operations.

Leading Telugu TV channels exposed the news-break suggesting that attempt was made to lure the four MLAs — Guvvala Balaraju (Achampet), Beeram Harshavardhan Reddy (Kollapur), Rega Kantha Rao (Pinapaka), and Pilot Rohit Reddy (Tandur) — in the camera.

It's alleged that the middlemen tried to bribe the legislators with the help of Ramachandra Bharathi alias Satish Sharma from Delhi; Simhayaji Swamy of Tirupati, Nandu (hailing from Ambarpet) owner of Deccan Pride hotel; and another person. The police raided the farm house located at Moinabad in Ranga Reddy district.

The police are expected to reveal further the details in some time.

The Operation is akin to the "Cash for vote" in which present TPCC president A Revanth Reddy and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu were accused of offering bribe to Anglo-Indian nominated MLA Stevenson to vote for TDP candidate in an MLC election.

The four MLAs, who left the game house, will soon call on Chief Minister KCR at Pragathi Bhavan.

Stephen Ravindra confirmed that the MLAs informed the police that they were being lured to cross over from the party and were being offered huge benefits. The Commissioner also said that the police woul initiate legal proceedings on the issue. After further investigation, the police would come up with more details. While three MLAs — Balaraju, Harshavardhan Reddy, and Rega Kantha Rao — met the Chief Minister. However, Pilot Rohit Reddy is conspicuous by his absence.
