BJP MLA Raja Singh's wife Usha Bai urges Governor to revoke PD Act on him

HYDERABAD: Usha Bai, wife of Goshamahal MLA T Raja Singh, requested Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan to intervene in the matter of her husband's arrest and help revoke the Preventive Detention (PD) Act levelled on Raja Singh.

Usha, along with Raja Singh's sisters, met the Governor on Saturday. She said that the PD Act levelled on her husband was baseless and his arrest was illegal. She also said that many baseless cases were booked and Raja Singh was detained multiple times by the police only due to the Government's pressure.

Raja Singh, who was arrested on August 25 after he posted an offensive video and hurt religious sentiments of a community ahead of comic Munawar Faruqui's show in Hyderabad, was levelled the PD Act as he had threatened to set the venue on fire.
