Communist Party of India (CPI) National Secretary Narayana demanded immediate recall of Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan
HYDERABAD: Communist Party of India (CPI) National Secretary Narayana on Thursday demanded immediate recall of Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan for her controversial style of functioning. He criticised the Governor for working against the spirit of the Constitution.
Addressing the media at the party headquarters in Hyderabad, Narayana said that he had been opening advocating against the institution of governors as he felt that the system did not work. He also criticised the Governor for talking more like a politician.
The CPI national secretary also took exception to the governor holding back important bills at her end. "Procrastinating on the proposal of the University Recruitment Board is not appropriate," he said. "The Governor should only report to the President and not to the Prime Minister or the Home Minister," said Narayana while alleging that the Governor's system was causing inconvenience to the government.
He said that his party had given a call to protest the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Visakhapatnam by greeting him with black flags. "The Prime Minister had laid the foundation stone for the construction of Amaravati as the state capital but no proper development is seen there," he remarked. He also took the Prime Minister to task over the Centre's proposal to privatise the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.
