Deputy Tehsildar suspended for intruding into IAS Smita Sabharwal’s residence

HYDERABAD: Deputy Tehsildar Anand Kumar Reddy was suspended on Monday for intruding into senior IAS officer Smita Sabharwal’ s residence in Jubilee Hills.

The audacious attempt by the deputy tehsildar reportedly happened between 11 pm and 12 am.

The accused entered the house illegally claiming of discussing an employment issue. The accused, associated with the Medchal district administration, has since been arrested and remanded based on a complaint from the senior woman officer.

The very intrusion of the accused prompted her to immediately raise an alarm. Her personal security men immediately apprehended Anand Kumar and was later handed over to the Jubilee Hills police.

In response to the incident, Medchal District Collector had issued a suspension order to the deputy tehsildar. Reportedly, the collector’s order will be given to the accused in chanchalaguda jail by the officials of the Revenue Department.
