Devotee from Hyderabad dies at Durga temple in Vijayawada

VIJAYAWADA: A devotee, who came from Hyderabad for the darshan of Goddess Kanaka Durga at the temple on Indrakeeladri Hills here, died after suffering epileptic seizures on Friday. The tragic incident happened in the queue line meant for the Rs 500 VIP darshan and the deceased was identified as Murthy, believed to be around 45 years of age.

It is reported that Murthy had bought the VIP darshan ticket after seeing the heavy rush and influx of devotees to the temple. He collapsed in the queue line, apparently suffering a bout of epileptic seizures, prompting the security personnel on duty and the temple staff to quickly rush him to a hospital. He was in an unconscious state when he was shifted to the hospital.

However, Murthy later died while being treated at the hospital.
