Hyderabad bids adieu to last titular Nizam Mukarram Jah

HYDERABAD: The VIII Nizam, late Nawab Mir Barkat Ali Khan Walashan Mukarram Jah Bahadur, was buried with full police honours at Mecca Masjid on Wednesday, marking the end of an era.
The mortal remains were carried to Mecca Masjid around 4 p.m, and many people gave "Kandha" to H.E.H. the VIII Nizam. After Asar prayers on Wednesday evening, the VIII Nizam was laid to rest by his immediate family.
Thousands of local residents flocked to Chowmala palace and paid their respects to the last titular Nizam, who died in Turkey on January 14, 2023. The mortal remains of Mukarram Bahadur, the titular eight Nizam of Hyderabad, were brought from Khilwat in the Chowmahalla palace to the Mecca Masjid.
Honouring the love and respect the people have for H.E.H The VIII Nizam, special arrangements were made for ladies and gentlemen who paid their last respects at Chowmahalla Palace between 8am and 1pm on Wednesday.
The family of H.E.H. the Nizam, close friends of the family, staff and trustees paid their last respects to H.E.H. The VIII Nizam late Nawab Mir Barkat All Khan Walashan Mukarram Jah Bahadur between 7pm and 10pm on Tuesday.
The Telangana government accorded full police honours to H.E.H. the VIII Nizam, and arrangements were made in collaboration with all departments of the Telangana Government, Nizam the VIII's family members, and trustees.
