Hyderabad Metro ferries record 4 lakh people on Ganesh immersion day

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Metro Rail, which serves as a key mode of transport in Hyderabad, set a new record on Friday, with 4 lakh people boarding the metro in a single day.
The metro was operational till midnight for the convenience of devotees who attended the Khairatabad Ganesh Shobhayatra.
Officials said that 2.46 lakh people travelled in the Miyapur-LB Nagar corridor while 1.49 lakh people travelled in the Nagol-Raydurgam corridor. In the JBS-MGBS corridor, 22 thousand people had traveled.
Officials noted that while 22.5 thousand people boarded the metro at Khairatabad, 40 thousand people got down at that station.
