Hyderabad Nizam Prince Mukarram Jah, 90, dies in Turkey
Prince Mukarram Jah, who is the grandson of the last Nizam of Hyderabad Mir Osman Ali Khan, passed away last night at 10.30 pm in Istanbul, Turkey
HYDERABAD: The titular Nizam of Hyderabad, Prince Mukarram Jah, who is the grandson of the last Nizam of Hyderabad Mir Osman Ali Khan, passed away last night at 10.30 pm in Istanbul, Turkey. He is 90.
His mortal remains would be brought to Hyderabad as he desired that he be laid to rest in Hyderabad. The body, which would be brought to Hyderabad on Tuesday, would be taken to Chowmohalla Palace.
The traditional Muslim clergyman would perform the last rituals at the Palace and the body would be shifted to Asaf Jahi tombs for burial.
Prince Mukarram Jah was the chairman of Nizam’s Charitable Trust and Mukarram Jah Trust for Education and Learning.
Prince Mukarram Jah, originally Mir Barkat Ali Khan Siddiqui, was born on October 6, 1933.
