Hyderabad woman accuses father-in-law of sexual harassment; approaches SHRC

HYDERABAD: In a shocking development, a woman approached the Telangana State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) on Monday with a sexual harassment complaint against her father-in-law. Her family hails from Golconda Risalabazar in Hyderabad.

Atifa Begum Godu, the victim, claimed that even though she had lodged a complaint with the police no action was taken. The victim said that her father-in-law had been harassing her and threatened to kill her and her husband if they revealed to the outside world about his sexual advances.

The victim, along with her husband, approached the State Human Rights Commission and pleaded for protection and immediate action against her father-in-law. The commission promised to take appropriate action against the accused.
