MLA Danam Nagender made to clear pending challans on his car
The car of Khairatabad MLA from the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) was intercepted by the Hyderabad City Police (traffic) during a special drive on Friday.

The car of Khairatabad MLA from the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) was intercepted by the Hyderabad City Police (traffic) during a special drive on Friday.
The police were conducting a special drive to ensure that the windows of vehicles did not use any tint or film. In the process, the police stopped the vehicle being used by the family members of Danam Nagender, that carried eight uncleared challans (fine for violation of rules) amounting to Rs. 5,175.
However, the police let the car go as it belonged to the legislator of the ruling party, though many other violators were booked and their vehicles, seized.
However, this caught the media attention and the matter was on escalated to the knowledge of the top brass of the TRS and those at the helm of affairs.
Soon a stern direction went from the top to the police not to spare anyone who violated traffic rules and regulations. Necessary action must be taken irrespective of who the violator was.
Accordingly, Inspector of Banjara Hills Traffic Police B Shankar collected Rs. 37,365, including the Sun on the vehicle that's let off. Interestingly, Nagender vehicles had been charged with penalty for 66 violations in all.
This may leave many a law-makers and bureaucrats to rush to clear their dues.
