HYDERABAD: The Nagole flyover, which is being funded by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), would be inaugurated soon, increasing the total number of completed Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP) projects to 32.

The 990-m-long flyover is being constructed at a cost of Rs 212.58 crores which includes land acquisition, utility shifting and civil works cost. The bi-directional carriageway is 24-m-wide with six lanes – three on both sides and is set up on 22 pillars.

The flyover would help ease traffic between LB Nagar and Uppal. It would also reduce travel time for commuters who are enroute Secunderabad, ECIL, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri or Warangal.

The GHMC is giving priority to completing the SRDP projects in the city. A total of 47 SRDP projects are being executed across the city to curb traffic congestion, out of which 41 are funded by the GHMC and six projects by NHAI, R&B and HMDA.

In the city limits, 31 projects – 16 flyovers, seven ROBs and five underpasses, have been completed and inaugurated. All the remaining 15 works undertaken by SRDP will be completed by the end of 2023.
